An access system, not just a stair
CME designs and fabricates GFRP stairs so people can climb safely in chemical, mining, water and cooling-tower plants. The system combines pultruded structural shapes with grating treads (moulded or pultruded) and handrails in the same material: it does not rust, does not need paint and does not conduct electricity.
Each flight is made to size. Equal risers and the same tread size from bottom to top. Shipped assembled, in modules or knockdown for site assembly, with stainless hardware.
What the system includes
Channel stringers, tread support angles, anchoring clips and treads with an anti-slip nosing. Tube railings on both sides; an inner handrail on request.
Width, number of flights and landings follow the rise and the traffic. Standard colours: safety yellow or grey. Others on request.
This is not a cage ladder. The marine ladder stays for tight openings or occasional access; here the use is daily, with tools in hand.
Material and assembly
Isophthalic polyester or vinylester resin, with a surface veil against UV. A low-flame-spread formulation is available, the same family we use on profiles and gratings.
Lightweight: it is lifted with less equipment and anchored to concrete, steel or its own GFRP structure. The tread drains and does not hold chemicals.
CME delivers engineering, shop drawings and assembly supervision. It ties into platforms, walkways and handrails of the same system.
Corrosion
Inert to cooling water, acids and effluents. No yearly painting.

Assembled, in flights or knockdown. Stainless hardware.
Safety
Anti-slip tread, continuous rail and landings.
