Need
The roof was required to cover the top floor of the corporate tower in Puerto Madero.
It had to allow airflow for the cooling towers while being transparent to electromagnetic waves for radio signals.
Located at a height of 37 floors, it had to cover a surface area of 1,600 m².
Solution
Design, calculation and manufacture of a 1,600 m² roof composed of lattice beams with a drop-profile grid (specially designed and manufactured at the request of architect César Pelli's studio).
The structure was manufactured with pultruded structural fiberglass composite profiles.
The bolting was also done in fiberglass (adhesive-bonded), since no metallic elements could be used, to allow 100% electromagnetic transparency for the equipment installed in the tower.
